Synopsis
A sloping country garden shaped by flowing beds of ornamental grasses and herbaceous perennials, and punctuated by terraces of Purbeck stone, some incorporating raised ponds and water features. The garden is surrounded by veteran yew and holm oak which help to filter the winds from the sea. Glittering Stipa gigantea mixes with sanguisorbas and silvery artemisias, while unusual Burkheya purpurea, a purple South African daisy, and plentiful stands of Verbena bonariensis provide nectar for late summer invertebrates. Contemporary design gently inserted into a timeless bucolic setting.
