Synopsis
With over 120 Japanese maples the garden at Wild Thyme Cottage is full of vibrant colour throughout autumn; brilliant scarlet Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' is a real head turner. Other seasonal favourites include Euonymus alatus, the winged spindle, Acer rubrum 'Crimson King, sunny yellow Ginkgo biloba, and unusual Mahonia aquifolium 'Moseri' with its prickly pink-tinged foliage. A border on the roadside is a contemporary mix of grasses, conifers and white-stemmed birches. Lots of inspiration for vivid autumn planting set amongst distinctive, bespoke woodwork including a lychgate-style garden entrance with decorative carvings and inscriptions.
